Hey, all!

Hey, all! I join, year after year, hoping that this year will be the one where I am able to participate more fully. This always falls in our testing window. So I'm not sure you'll see much of me. But here's hoping. I teach beginning English Learners in Vermont, USA.

I'm back to play!

I'm back to play! I hope this time to get my students off the ground. Last year I talked a good game about getting students to play Minecraft. I bought licenses before it went to the online version. I still have that, but I was never successful in getting my own students to jump in.

There's always this year.

I teach primarily former refugees in lovely Vermont, where it's been incredibly cold. I need Minecraft to warm my heart.

Loads of people in when I peeked into Minecraft today!

Loads of people in when I peeked into Minecraft today! First, the view from the top of my mountain hiding place; tiny little garden; pigs in a boat; and a view from a gorgeous treehouse!

Reintroducing myself here.

Reintroducing myself here... I played last year and got myself 20 licenses to the old MinecraftEDU before the server went online. I am looking this year for help in getting my very low proficiency students from getting extremely frustrated by the game. What's the best way to introduce this? How do I help them know the commands?

Putting out a cry for help!

Putting out a cry for help!

I'm lost in our new world... Left the community compound to find cows/coal. Found all that I needed. Wanted to go back. Now I'm lost somewhere and can't find my way back, after several day cycles. I'm now at somebody's cliffside mine. Can anybody help guide me back?

Hey, all!

Hey, all! My name is Beth. I teach ELLs (mostly refugees) in Vermont, USA. I've heard a lot about Minecraft and am hoping to figure out why it's got so many people talking.

This is about the best I've been able to do so far.

This is about the best I've been able to do so far. I can't get comments to upload consistently to blogger. It might be a bandwidth ...
