Hi all, I am Thorsten, a teacher from Germany. I took part at the emomc16 and am happy to be here again. I probably won't have time to do all the tasks, but I want to be part of it and hope I can support someone in this MOOC.
My goal this time is to learn things about Redstone.

I can't connect to the server (though I can ping it), is the MC-server not running?

What is this? Mining at level 11 I rammed into a dark space with a fire and a lot of skeletons and monsters - good that my diamond suit is enchanted meanwhile. Can anyone tell me what I found?
Did I dig too deep like the dwarfs in Moria at "Lord of the rings"?

Hey, I can enchant tools and weapons, hurraa. As you can see at the pictures, I put an enchantment table in my tree-room in the lighthouse and in my living house in the "city". At the picture in the entrance hall of the lightouse (look through the glass roof) you see my enchanted pickaxe. ;-) I documented mining obsidian by video (in the performance, yet to come).

Approaching from the sea to my beachhouse look at the window in the room under the sea, there's a squid swimming in front of the window pane. Cool. Instead of commuting by boat between there and savanna land I will go by cart, after I found out there is a Metro-connection. Many thanks to Linda for this helpful project!!!
It is really interesting what has become of our world. :D

I have problems connecting with the server.

I have problems connecting with the server. "Outdated server" appears on my screen. I guess this is because my MC-client is for MC 1.9 but the server is said to be version 1.8.8 - but the MC-Launcher downloads the MC-client for 1.9 automatically.
Are you going to update the server? Or what can I do?
 (I am using MC for MacOSX)

Yesterday I went out getting some wood and was surprised by dusk.

Yesterday I went out getting some wood and was surprised by dusk. Returnig to home I got killed by a zombie and lost all my stuff. After respawning I took a sword out of the case and went back to recollect my artefacts, while doing it a skeleton shot me and "I died" again. Respawned, sword and back, did'nt see the spider, then a zombie - dead again. Respawed, sword, hurrying back, two zombies, no chance with a stone sword. Dead again. Respawned, sword, ... and so it went time after time until dawn. I didn't count. Most things got lost, the last zombie got my anger and the rest of a wheathered stone sword I still had found all down in my case.
I guess I broke the record (of Robert?) of dying in this #evomc16 MOOC.

Hi, I am Thorsten Groß from the Ricarda-Huch-Schule in Dreieich. We are using Minecraft in Working Communities. Up to 2015 we used an Edu-Version of Minecraft. At the moment we try to test Minetest under Linux.
During a BarCamp about Games the idea of reconstructing our hole school was planned and lateron finished by students themselves (using Mahara as an orga-plattform).

At the moment we're planning another event about Minecraft in our school. The goal is to construct a bigger thing (Death Star?) together in cooperation and document the learning of the students. A possible timeslot is at the end of may 2016, but the date is not yet fixed.
