This is about the best I've been able to do so far.
This is about the best I've been able to do so far. I can't get comments to upload consistently to blogger. It might be a bandwidth problem. I'll try again with a stronger connection. At least I've got what shows in the URL posted. This screen shot compares the result with Mircea's https://evomcarchive.blogspot.com/. I'm not sure if further xml downloads are needed.

Hi again, for anyone inclined to play around with the JSON, wp4, wp5, and/or blogger xml files of our G+C, I've made a backup of everything prior to this post, zipped it up (since drive doesn't allow upload of raw JSON files apparently) and uploaded the zip file to Google Drive, where anyone should be able to download it and upload the files in the package to blogger or wp or some other platform, e.g. Moodle.
A huge thanks to Mircea Patrascu who has worked closely with me to help me follow the steps he took to create https://evomcarchive.blogspot.com/. At this stage we're working together to get the data preserved in the formats mentioned above and we'll take the month of April to see what we can do with the xml files by way of preserving the most functional archive possible.
I plan to make another final backup before April 2 but I doubt that much will be posted here before then. If it is, we'll get it in the final b/u hopefully.
See you on the other side :-)

Hi everyone, I've purchased a license for GooglePlusExport (good on only one device unfortunately) and Mircea Patrascu and I are working together on getting one or more definitive backups of our community. I've just downloaded 1106 posts in JSON, WP, and Blogger formats just to see how long it would take. I plan to post my last backup files in my Google Drive, and of course we'll create a blog using Mircea's trickery to make a final archive.
This is to let you know we'll be wrapping up soon. G+ plans to shut down April 2 (I guess if they'd said April 1 we wouldn't have taken them seriously) so I'll probably make a last stab at a backup March 31.
Meanwhile I have a question needing attention I'll ask in a separate post. Look for it Real Soon Now. I'd appreciate any answers :-)

Thanks Mircea Patrascu for giving us a group lesson on how to use scriptcraft in Minecraft to build castles, bridges, stairs, and blocks. While Emanual immediately built a house with codes, Mattie Tsai was creating chaos creating outpours of lava using codes. I suffered "intentionally accidental" (as Dak put it) deaths because of Mattie. Vlad, Mircea's son came to the rescue and teleported me back several times when I respawned. We look forward to Mircea's next coding lesson! ^___^

Jane and Vance presented at the EVO closing ceremony which took place on Sunday, starting at 1400 UTC, http://missions4evomc.pbworks.com/w/page/130258521/2019_Live_Events#SunFeb171400UTCElectronicVillageOnline2019closingceremony
This officially brought EVO 2019 to a close for this year, but it came too early for me because for much of the past week I've been engrossed in travel to Cambodia and attendance at the CamTESOL conference which ended earlier today. But if anyone is willing to meet online I would relish going back on the server and exploring what people have been doing there, especially OliveTree Lighthouse's clickable signs and whatever Dakotah Redstone has been up to at Atracity, and anyone else who's been active and has something to show us, I'd love to meet in MInecraft and see it. Minecraft is so much more FUN when others are online - as we've learned, that's essential, actually.
As regards other housekeeping if anyone wants a certificate of participation in this session, we can arrange that for you, you can alert us here or email vancestev at my gmail address. And if you are going for a badge, I'll be checking the spreadsheet and working out who has been pursuing that track.
At the closing ceremony that's wrapping up now (and to which I am listening) many sessions are talking about continuing into March. We could do that if enough are interested. And those who wish to moderate next year will need to be discussing what changes we want to make based on what we continue to learn year to year.
Thanks very much for a very stimulating EVO Minecraft MOOC for 2019

Want to join my team?
Want to join my team? Dakotah Redstone and OliveTree Lighthouse have been testing out scoreboards in Minecraft. I was so excited to be on Dak's team when I saw my name on the scoreboard. I feel like I'm one of the "OASIS players" from the movie/book "Ready Player One." Let the game begin! When I collect beats and potatoes, the scoreboard shows how many I collected. This is a lot of fun!!

Dear PARTICIPANTS in this week 5 of FOCUS can you please fill out the EVO final participant survey.
Dear PARTICIPANTS in this week 5 of FOCUS can you please fill out the EVO final participant survey. It shouldn't take long. The data are presented at the annual TESOL conference for EVO as a whole, and the deadline for filling in the survey is March 1. Much appreciated if you can fill one in for EVO Minecraft MOOC if you participated in our activities this year. THANKS!

Yaaay :) Clickable Signs.
Yaaay :) Clickable Signs.
What Clickable Signs are: They are signs that look like the normal signs in Minecraft but they are generated by a command. They can be created to run different commands when they are right clicked such as say something, give something, kill something, join or leave a team and many more.
So now we know how to create clickable sings. I found this site http://minecraft.tools/en/sign.php?sign=click%20me&command=%2Fsay%20My%20name%20is&signname=name which is basically a tool that helps generate the commands for different things. I tried the commands on 1.13 and on 1.12 and both worked.
One of the ways we can use use Clickable signs is making a breadcrumb trail as part of a
- Story
- word puzzle
- Treasure or a scavenger hunt
Or of course an activity that has all of the above.
If anyone has an idea that they want to try using signs, please feel free to let everyone know here or start some thoughts in a google doc and then we can help set it up and invite everyone to test it.

Today I felt like changing my avatar skin to a tree :) so I went to this site tha I used before http://www.minecraftskins.com/ and created one and uploaded it from the site to Minecraft. As you can see it's a tree lol but also notice what I have on my head. Yes it's a sapling. How did I manage to wear a sapling?
/hat is a command that allows you to wear an item (not a weapon) that you are holding in your hand. So put something on your hot bar, scroll to it so that you have it in your hand then in chat put /hat and press enter, et voila :) One of the pictures shows me trying a bed as a hat and one as I carried a bucket full of water on my head lol

Hi everyone.
Hi everyone. There is good news and bad. The sad bad news is that today is the last day of #evomc18. The happy glad news is that it is also the first day of #evomc19, or the start of a time of transition between the two. With so much relying on the efforts of so many unpaid but passionately dedicated volunteers there is never a guarantee of who will be with us one year to the next, but EVO Minecraft MOOC has boosted me personally even closer to geek status in Ito's stages of gamesmanship, if I haven't reached there already. I'm certainly enjoying the ride and loving having the rest of you along on each other's shared personal learning journeys.
A few end of session details:
1. Please fill in the brief EVO participant survey for EVO Minecraft MOOC. It should take less than 5 min for you tell EVO how you found #EVOMC18. The link is here: https://goo.gl/forms/4sIrBRcgeDZA4DpD3
2. If you are going for a badge, you have until end of March to join our Survivor's Badge spreadsheet with your Google ID and fill in your missions accomplished here http://tinyurl.com/evomc18-badgetrack
3. You are welcome to join us at the EVO wrap up session live streamed from Bb Collaborate, 1400 UTC Feb 25, details here: http://tinyurl.com/learning2gether
4. I have been given a certificate template and will do my best to find time to distribute these in some way shape or form to moderators and participants.
5. You are welcome to pop by our Minecraft server and continue to post here. We've been here the past 4 years. We're not going anywhere as long as OU pays its electricity bills :-). Well there are also the valiant efforts of our server team, Jeff Kuhn and Aaron Schwartz. A big cheer.
Some of the above is spelled out in our Missions wiki, http://missions4evomc.pbworks.com/w/page/121439046/2018_week5
More from us later. I'm in MC now. Maha Abdelmoneim has just popped in.

Greetings all, it's the last week of EVO.
Greetings all, it's the last week of EVO. And #evomc18 is in its 5th week. And evomc#18 is a continuation of #evomc15, 16, and 17, and there may very well be an #evomc19, so it's not the end of EVO Minecraft MOOC, as long as there is a server running to play on, which there continues to be thanks to Aaron Schwartz and Jeff Kuhn.
As MOOCs go, this last week's stage is the focus one. As dave cormier says, in MOOCs people orient, make themselves known to others (declare), network, cluster (as one or two dozen of us have done in these last few weeks), and a good example of focus is Don Carroll and Jane Chien's research project, which might have a life of its own after evomc18, and also my offer to you to consider publishing your reflections on using Minecraft in your workplace in TESL-EJ if you would like to write them up. So all in all a successful MOOC again this year.
If you want to see how we envisage this last week of EVOMC18, you can see our missions wiki here, http://missions4evomc.pbworks.com/w/page/121439046/2018_week5
There you see you can (1) continue to interact in Minecraft, (2) still get help if you need it just by asking us, (3) work toward your Survivor's Badge if you wish, and (4) fill out the EVO survey of all EVO sessions, including this one, here https://goo.gl/forms/4sIrBRcgeDZA4DpD3. (Please)
Our live events this time around have mainly been in-world ones, and you can find us in world by filling in the Doodle polls you find here:
http://missions4evomc.pbworks.com/w/page/121439859/2018_Live_Events
If you have any questions, concerns, suggestions, or reports of outstanding success just leave us a post, or reply here.

Hi everyone, the EVO Minecraft MOOC survivor's badge has been created and is ready to be awarded to Beth S O'Connell, Kim Harrison, Jane Chien, David Dodgson, and David Plumel.
Why only these few and not the many more who have contributed remarkably to #evomc17? Because these are the people who entered their names and links to their accomplishments at http://tinyurl.com/evomc17-badgetrack (request to write there if needed).
If you want your badge just document whatever you have accomplished there. This is important because this link contains the evidence given for awarding the badge, which anyone will be able to see if they want to know what you did to earn the badge.
There is no real cut-off for this. You can have this month and maybe even next to link us to your artifacts online and help us create a showcase of what you have accomplished in #EVOMC17.
