Hey all. So...yesterday I invited three of my students to "Lunch Lab" to teach me how to play Minecraft. All three are English language learners, two of whom are typically very reluctant to speak in English. I have a video (which I'm going to edit and upload later) and some written student work. Greetings fellow teachers and gamers! My name is Kelly Marie Johnston. I teach content-based ESL to fourth and fifth graders at an elementary school in Brooklyn, New York. Many of my students are obsessed with Minecraft and have, I've noticed, picked up a lot of vocabulary through gaming. I hope to meet them on that platform and facilitate language learning. This is my first time joining an EVO course and I'm looking forward to learning from you all.
