Stumbled upon another fossil....this one is quite large, and doesn't look like a skull to me...that is 3 fossils now found near the same temple in the desert....no wonder it was covered..lol

Come find it and finish excavating. Please do not mine bone or coal.
Who can determine what body part it is? Wow! Maybe we have a whole extinct creature here...not sure...

Did you know there are fossils that can be found in MC that are the remains of long extinct creatures? Abu's paleontologist group may be excite to explore the cave directly left of the once sand-hidden temple. Look for the bone block and please do not mine it.

The temple surrounds look much different now...I try to excavate with as little block destruction as possible when I can.

A super cool distraction...while I was at the acacia village on the way to the fire...I found an extensive cave mineshaft is under the village! There are chests of loot to find, mob spawners to find and control, and all kinds of mining riches including oak wood planks and fences. The entrance is to the back of the village and to the right of the mine cart rail. I tried to get some photos to show how cool this shaft is. I have not seen one like this before...check it out! Be careful though...mobs are everywhere!

This is from 2015, but ideas are still applicable today for elementary and ELL students.

Don Carroll had asked about different versions of MC... now the Minecraft for Education Edition is what schools need to use. Each student and teacher account is tied to an office 365 account and it costs $5 per student per year. There are some new features for teachers, but there is also less customization opportunity for teachers as this is a locked down version of MC. I had an account, but when my work email went away, i could no longer log into it. Would like to check it out more, but a teacher account must be tied to a school from what Microsoft has said. Anyone use MCEE? Thoughts?

I had meant to alert you to the live event yesterday, but at least there is an archive of a Classroom 2.0 presentation on MinecraftEDU with Laura Briggs (@LauraBTRT), Kim Harrison (@k4sons) and Trish Cloud (@trishcloud) sharing their experiences and stories about how they are engaging their students with MinecraftEDU both during the school day and in an after school club and summer camp. MinecraftEDU is a special version of Minecraft designed specifically for classroom use. It has been used to teach a wide range of subjects and is designed to be open-ended which allows content to be built around any subject area. Teachers have used the game to teach history, math, art, programming, creative writing, science, music, digital citizenship and more! It hosts a library of lessons and activities that are available for free and there is an active teacher community exploring and sharing uses of Minecraft in the classroom.

Playing with the glazed terracotta...still figuring out how to make sides/designs match how I would like, and the design is turning out quite nice or noice as Dakotah Redstone would say :) The first photo is the design I wanted to create for a ceiling and the top or floor turned out pretty cool as well in second photo. It was a fun surprise to see what the pattern would be on the other side.

I am excited to start the Minecraft session so I can continue to play, learn, and be creative! I also enjoy helping others have fun! I facilitate online courses that help teachers learn about virtual environments, and Minecraft is my favorite! Looking forward to working and playing with everyone!
