Hi guys.

Hi guys.
My name is Robert and I'm a ESL teacher interested in using Minecraft for teaching English (among many things).

I found about the community and the mooc just a few days ago while looking for information about the use of MC for educational purposes. I've never played the game, but I can feel it has a great potential and I'm desperate to learn as much as I can about it.

I'm just thinking if it makes sense for me to join in half way through the course as I have no experience with the game whatsoever, to be honest I have my doubts if I can manage...

What do you think? Is it too late to join?

Robert

Sorry gang I'm on a science kick today.

Sorry gang I'm on a science kick today. Another cool game video uses Kerbal Space Program mashed up with Apollo footage.

YouTuber Duggy makes movies inside the game Grand Theft Auto. In this one he mixes up Carl Sagan's Pale Blue Dot speech with some serious cinematography.

Take a look, it's another example of the versatility of games.

Hello EVO Minecraft MOOC.

Hello EVO Minecraft MOOC.

This week, we are going to switch the #EVOMC16 Server from Creative Mode to Survival Mode. (Sorry if I made anybody panic when I said something about it in chat last night--i thought i was making the switch earlier)

When we do this, we will be replacing our current creative map with a new survival map.

We are planning on making this switch this Thursday so we will have Survival up-and-running for weekend play. I'm aiming for around noon EST.

Don't worry about your creative builds. I have been making regular backups and we will be saving the map and making it available for download. There are so many great projects in there!

Jeff Kuhn and I have discussed reopening the creative map and keeping it running after the conclusion of our MOOC. Like this idea? If so, give some feedback in the replies.

Hi Everybody!

Hi Everybody! I am a Technology Facilitator for an all boys private school, as well as an computer elective teacher. I have been at my school for 18 years and have been using Minecraft with our English, computer literacy and computer elective students since 2012. I have used both MinecraftEdu as well as vanilla and modded servers for many of our projects. I hope to share what I know as well as learn from this community on how Minecraft is used in the classroom.

Just want to touch base and apologize for doing so little to date.

Just want to touch base and apologize for doing so little to date. I hoped that despite a week-long vacation trip and then marathon paperwork I'd be able to somewhat keep up with #evomc16  , but not so. I think I'm pretty hopelessly behind.  Nevertheless, I'll try at least to learn some game basics and observe the miracles that many of you are achieving/contributing.  I'm enjoying some of your video clips. Thanks.

This is about the best I've been able to do so far.
