Hi everyone! I am David, one of the moderators on the MOOC. I am currently working for the British Council in Bahrain as an ICT Coordinator.
I have been using Minecraft with young learners for a few years now. It all started in Turkey where my 9-12 year old learners would make projects in the game and produce narrated videos to share them with the class. I've also run after-school Minecraft clubs. In both cases, I relished letting the learners take the lead. While this is great for student-centred learning, it hasn't been great for me learning the game!
I still consider myself a pre-intermediate player of the game and you will most likely find me in the game world building simple houses and decked out in iron armour. Join me online if you want to work on the basics and exchange some ideas for activities your students can engage in. :)
