Would you be willing to answer 5 quick questions in a poll created by Nina Liakos, head coordinator of EVO?
Would you be willing to answer 5 quick questions in a poll created by Nina Liakos, head coordinator of EVO? It's here https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/JBHVKT8 and its purpose is to get feedback regarding #EVOMC15 for a report Nina needs to make at TESOL in Toronto, and she needs these questions answered by as many EVO participants as possible. If you're in other #EVOsessions, you'll be getting polled in those sessions as well. This is just for Minecraft MOOC.
Hi all
Hi all,
Sorry for being a lurker so far but these four weeks have been terribly busy and here I am, still at Introductions and hoping to catch up.
I am an EFL teacher from Croatia. I teach at a primary school in Velika Gorica, a town in the greater area of Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. My students are 12 and 14 years old and a lot of them play Minecraft. I am a noob but very enthusiastic and determined to learn.
Looking forward to learning from you and hope to be able to share some ideas before the end of the session.

At that session we tentatively agreed to try a survival session in Jeff's server on Thu at some time after 11:00 GMT. I set up a Doodle to help us set a time (range) for it. If you think you'd like to play, let us know your preferred time at the Doodle poll here:

If you'd like to try for another day, feel free to set up your own poll and post its link here.

We just had a great session with Jeff Kuhn and David Dodgson on using MC with students, and part of that was about setting up a server (recording http://youtu.be/cvpi4_a0wCE). Jeff has me convinced i can set one up on my laptop and get going with my students between classes. Meanwhile, check out this declare statement by a participant in the Canvas MC course where setting up your server is first order of business. This participant has expressed my own goals at this point (except my kids are grown)
I am new and my plan is to:
- get a Minecraft EDU account
- learn to access Minecraft on various platforms
- learn to provide something for my students
- learn to use minecraft with my children
- learn to install own server
- learn to build learning adventures to be discovered by my classes.
