Thanks to Don Carroll reflections/questions on the use of MC in education and one of his recent post where he shared about a colleague who had surveyed students to learn whether students knew MC, I remembered a similar experience I had surveying my students about games and how ever since (2012) I have considered learning more about my students habits outside the class and finding out whether they were really gamers or liked just playing casual games or not liking games at all. In 2015 when I started to delve into game-based learning and gamification, I wrote this post.

In attempting to get back to the underwater temple (or temples) I found before, I think I found yet another one!

In attempting to get back to the underwater temple (or temples) I found before, I think I found yet another one! The coordinates of this one are different from the coordinates for the other ones. This one was conveniently just off the beach of an island and I set a home point there.

Also at Sura's suggestion I brought a boat this time. Rowing is a pain in the neck, but being able to set locations and text while sitting in the boat is a big plus. Of course, when you return to that ocean-going home the boat is no longer under you!!!

BTW, that's my rowboat drifting out there. I was having problems getting back in quickly enough to avoid being killed. So I just swam ashore. Eventually, though, I figured it out.
