Inspired by Maha, I headed out into the great unknown, southbound after a warp to vanceswatchtower. I just kept going towards the blackness on the map, camped out under the starts one night, briefly struggled with one zombie but survived, and kept going south. The landscape was mostly barren but to my eyes beautiful...because it was unknown. There were some interesting green valleys and several dark caves. Eventually, just as night was falling again, I came to a new village and that saved my life. I was able to open the door to one of the houses and spent the night with a group of the villagers.
